Sara Lynn Hartman is an author, editor and researcher based in mid-Missouri. She has written four Arch books: Mary Magdalene’s Easter Story, The Ten Plagues (also an iPad app), When Jesus Was Born, and Christmas Angels for Concordia Printing House and numerous articles for magazines and websites.
Sara attended high school in Kirksville, Missouri and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She worked for state government, the federal government and the private sector before leaving the workforce to raise her family. She attended the 2002 Writing for the Church Workshop sponsored by Concordia Publishing House, the 2004 Glorietta Christian Writer’s Conference, and the 2012 Faith and Writing Workshop at Concordia Seminary. Sara recently spent a semester teaching undergraduate macroeconomics at Central Methodist University’s Columbia campus and is currently serving her church as office manager.
Sara is married with three children – a daughter teaching second grade in Valparaiso, Indiana, a daughter in veterinary school and a son studying criminal justice – a dog and a cat. Besides writing, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, kitschy Christmas letters, digital photography and creating handmade gifts.
